STAFF in Fermanagh Visitor Information Centre in Enniskillen got a shock this past week as famous Navan comedian Tommy Tiernan dropped in.
Tommy is a well known comedian, actor and writer. The stand up comedian presented the Tommy and Hector Show on 2fm as well as featuring in an episode of Father Ted.
Gemma Scallon who works at the Visitor Information Centre explained that Tommy came in with his four children to get some information ahead of his upcoming tour, part of which will take in Fermanagh.
“He was looking for just a bit of tourist information, what to do with his children while he was here.
“He has a tour coming up around Fermanagh and he just wanted to have a look around the place.
“He was very nice, very jolly, stayed for around 15 minutes and there was no problem getting a photograph, he was delighted. It was nice to see someone a wee bit famous coming in.”
As part of his ‘World tour of Fermanagh’ Tommy will perform at three local venues in September. On September 14 he will be at Mahon’s Hotel Irvinestown, the following evening he will be at the Killyhevlin Hotel, Enniskillen, while on September 20 he will pay a visit to the Donn Carragh Hotel in Lisnaskea.
Tickets are now on sale from Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.co.uk . Tommy will also perform in Kiltyclogher, Carrick-On-Shannon and Mohill, County Leitrim as part of his upcoming tours, as well as venues in Counties Kildare, Kilkenny and Carlow.
