TRAVELLING all the way from County Wexford is a band with something that little bit different this week.
The Davitt country band, which consists of seven relatives, is set to perform in the Enniskillen Hotel on Monday night, August 19.
The band features brothers Joe and Tommy, Tommy’s three sons (Thomas, Niall and Steven), Joe’s son Nathan and nephew Derek.
“It’s our first time in Fermanagh, we’re looking forward to it,” Joe, who is the band’s vocalist, told the Fermanagh Herald.
“People can expect a real lively show. We’re the only band on the country circuit that has a full brass section. We’re probably one of the largest bands on the circuit.”
Back in November, the band released ‘Marlena’, their debut album, named after the self-penned song of the same name.
“We’ve went from being a local band in Wexford to playing all over,” Joe continued.
Marlena is the only original on the album, which includes covers such as: ‘Here In The Real World’ and ‘Cold Windy City Of Chicago’.
“I’d hear a lot about Fermanagh from other bands. They say the scene here is a strong as anywhere else. They love their music and they love their couple of nights out a week – and love dancing and enjoying themselves,” Joe added.
Entrance is £12, with doors opening in the Enniskillen Hotel at 9.30pm and dancing starting at 10.30pm.
Coming further down the line is Susan McCann on September 23, and Robert Mizzel on October 14.
