The Shore Road (A46) outside Enniskillen will be closed to through traffic from Saturday, June 1 the PSNI have announced this morning.
As part of the PSNI’s traffic managment plan in the lead up to the G8 summit, a portion of the A46 Shore Road will be closed from Saturday, June 1 to Wednesday, June 26. There will still be access to the Lough Erne Resort including the golf club and access for those who live within further along the road.
The closure will operate from the Belleek side of the Magheradunbar junction to the layby at Carrickreagh.
Installation work for the parimeter fence began on Friday 17 May. At this stage, traffic will not be affected as initial work will take place away from the road. Installation on the A46 road outside Enniskillen begins on Saturday 1 June, and to facilitate this, the A46, Shore Road, Enniskillen will be closed at this time.
Diversions will be signposted at the Derrygonnelly junction and in Belleek. The road will remain closed until Wednesday, 26 June, to enable the fence to be dismantled following the Summit close on 18 June. Further road closures are not expected.
