NON-EMERGENCY services at the South West Acute Hospital may be rescheduled according to the Western Trust.
The issue was first raised at this month’s meeting of Fermanagh District Council by Enniskillen councillor, Alison Brimstone.
She expressed her concern that some non emergency Out-patient clinics may be closing at the time of the G8.
In response, the Trust have released a statement which suggests closures are being considered as a way to deal with the June summit.
“The Western Trust is actively involved in planning to take account of the G8 summit happening in Fermanagh in June.
“In so far as is possible, the Trust will be making every effort to ensure it is business as usual; however, with the expectation of increased traffic and numbers of people during the two days of the Summit, it may be necessary to reschedule non-emergency services.
