As Ross Corrigan and Nathan Timoney rowed in the Men’s Pair Final at the Olympics in Paris this morning (Friday), Ross’s grandmother, Kathleen Maguire, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren gathered in Ballyconnell to cheer on the Fermanagh duo.
Kathleen, 97, decked out in her green willed the boys on to the very end, and while they didn’t get in the medals, finishing sixth, the pride felt for the two Fermanagh rowers was immense.
Kathleen’s Olympic interest certainly doesn’t end there though as she now turns her attention to her granddaughter Leona Maguire who tees off for Ireland on Wednesday.
