Fermanagh stalwart Roisin Gleeson is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer but that didn’t stop the Donagh woman finally climbing the steps at Croker to collect the cup on Sunday.
When Roisin Gleeson raised aloft the West Country Hotel Cup on the steps of the Hogan Stand it generated the biggest cheer of the day.
36-year-old Gleeson has played in seven All-Ireland Finals between junior and intermediate grades and on Sunday she collected her first in Croke Park and it was emotional for the Donagh player on many levels.
On April 8, Gleeson was diagnosed with breast cancer, just after the league semi-final defeat to Carlow.
