All set for the ‘Greatest Show’ in Irvinestown

ROLL up, roll up, the greatest show in Fermanagh is about to take place.
As we welcome July, it can mean only one thing – it’s the Lady of the Lake Festival month and the theme this year is ‘The Greatest Show’.
This year marks the 45th anniversary of the cross-community festival which brightens the summer holidays, even if the weather doesn’t hold up.
It all means that from July 11-21, you can expect plenty of vibrant colours, lots of fun, unique spectacles and entertainment galore.
The tradition of the Lady of the Lake Festival is one taken from folklore, in which legend has it that the original Lady of the Lake, walked through the mists and made her way from island to island.
This association with the Lower Lough Erne has been proudly celebrated within the community of Irvinestown and neighbouring areas, for 45 years. This is a remarkable feat for the community, given the many challenging, but also joyous years it has spanned.
