Sadness at passing of Enniskillen man Pat Blake

There has been wide-spread sadness across Fermanagh today following news of the passing of former Enniskillen publican Pat Blake.

Born ‘between the bridges’, the 91-year-old ran the bar previously named Melvin House, now famous as Pat’s Bar on the Diamond, as it had quickly become known with Pat at the helm.

A keen runner and rugby player in his time, even in his later years, Pat remained very active and was well known around the town.

Pat is predeceased by his loving wife Philomena (nee Doorish) and will be sadly missed by his children William, Briege, and Paul, who is currently standing for the SDLP in this week’s Westminster election, and all who knew him.

(Funeral arrangements to be confirmed.)
