Police warn Fermanagh residents of travelling criminals

POLICE have warned residents to be wary of travelling criminals in the local area.
The warning comes after reports of suspicious vehicles in local villages, with householders urged to check the credentials of any unknown callers to their homes.
“We have noticed an increase in travelling criminals targeting the elderly in rural Fermanagh and Tyrone,” said a PSNI spokesman.
“These rogue traders appear to be offering to sell items, spray paint buildings and road surfaces or repair or clean your property.
“They seem to agree a ‘reasonable’ price and then once the job is carried out, several thousand pounds are added on to the price. They will then try to pressurise the vulnerable in to paying the full extortionate amount.
“If anyone has any further information regarding the whereabouts of these individuals or their vehicles, please let us know via 101 quoting reference 1422 -16th of June 2024.”
