Voting has been taking place across Fermanagh and South Tyrone today and, with fine weather across the constituency helping bring people out, polling stations across the area are reporting a reasonable turnout so far.
A total of 13 candidates are vying for one of six Assembly seats: Arlene Foster and Maurice Morrow from the DUP; Sinn Fein’s Sean Lynch, Phil Flanagan, John Feely and Michelle Gildernew; the UUP’s Rosemary Barton and Alastair Patterson; Tanya Jones from the Green Party; Damien Harris from the Northern Ireland Labour Representation Committee; and Alliance’s Kerri Blyberg.
If you haven’t cast your vote yet, there’s still plenty of time, with polling stations opened until 10pm this evening.
All eyes will be on the Omagh Leisure Centre tomorrow, where the ballot boxes will be opened and counting will begin at 8am. If previous years are anything to go by, the constituency could be in for another close contest, with the counting expected to last well into the weekend.
