ARLENE Foster has topped the poll in Fermanagh and South Tyrone after the first count.
Mrs Foster polled 8801 first preference votes, which was over the 6740 quota needed to be deemed elected.
A second count is underway with Michelle Gildernew (Sinn Fein) and Maurice Morrow (DUP) expected to be elected.
Although turnout was high in this year’s Assembly election at 64.55 per-cent in Fermanagh and South Tyrone, the figure is down on 2011 by 4.45 per-cent. In this Assembly election 47,934 votes were polled out of an eligible electorate of 74,247.
