JUST AS you were getting used to writing 2015, the year just has to go and change on us creating confusion in the post-Christmas wake.
And yes it is that time again for ‘New Year, new me’ status’ on Facebook, which can only mean one thing – New Year resolutions.
Like them or loathe them it can be a good way to start the year off – with a positive, hopeful attitude for 2016.
It is the time to finally stop that habit like smoking or taking up something like actually going to the gym.
But why do we often fail to keep our New Year resolutions?
Well apparently we don’t give ourselves enough time. According to psychologists if we want to succeed with New Year’s resolutions we have to start way before the clock strikes midnight on New Year year’s eve. When it comes to cutting something out or taking up something new ‘baby steps’ is apparently the way to go about it, as we can often tend to set unrealistic goals with our new found enthusiasm.
Among the top New Year resolutions are giving up smoking or drinking, get more organised, take up going to the gym or take up a new hobby.
Is a New Year resolution just a myth? Does anyone ever complete one? Well I suppose we won’t know until this time next year.
All that’s left to say is Happy New Year and I wish you well in what your New Year’s resolution is.
