THIS year’s Graan Draw will take place at the annual Graan dinner dance at the Killyhevlin Hotel, Enniskillen on Friday, 27th November.

The importance of the draw was stressed this week by Fr Brian D’Arcy, CP, the Rector of the Graan who explained that the draw had to raise around £20,000 (for the purchase of the car, printing, etc) before it made any profit.

“It’s our only fund-raising event of the year to keep the Graan going and, if there’s any surplus, that goes to the education of our young students.
“We have three in noviciate at the moment, and the possibility of three more next September, and that’s a big change for us. We had an ordination last year and one again this year.”

The Graan draw has been going for the past 60 years and has always been well supported. Tickets are £2 or £10 fro a book of six which, Fr Brian feels, is good value for money.

The first prize this year is a Toyota Yaris (3-door) which has been purchased from Western Cars, Enniskillen and, after that, there is a second prize of £1,000 and 10 prizes of £200.

Tickets can be bought right up until the draw is made at around 11pm on 27th November, at the Graan dance. Tickets are £30 a head.
The dance is normally well supported, with up to 350 attending.

This year’s stage highlight is Johnny Brady, straight from ‘The Late Late Show’.
