You never know what you’ll find while training as a Police coxswain!
Fermanagh based PSNI coxswain, Const. Andy Russell, made a significant discovery while training on Belfast Lough recently.
During a week’s training course, he found a balloon close to Carrickfergus. It had been released by schoolchildren in the Rathmines area of Dublin as part of National Day of Prayer for Children in Rathmines, Dublin.
600 pupils from eight schools let off a prayer balloon each at the end of the service. The school has been doing this for four years and this is only the 2nd year a balloon has been found. There was one found last year also.
Organiser, Jackie Pallas, thanked the officer for contacting them and for sending a location map of exactly where the balloon had been found.
