Fermanagh woman dies in Monaghan car crash

A Fermanagh woman in her mid 50s has died after a road crash in Monaghan yesterday morning (Wednesday).

It is understood the deceased had been living in Roslea.

Gardai in Monaghan are investigating the fatal road traffic collision that occured in the townland of Aghalisk, Clones Road, Monaghan at approximately 7.50am.

A Garda spokesman confirmed:

“The two car collison occured, and a female driver (mid 50s) was fatally injured and her body has been removed to Cavan General Hospital. The male driver (late 50s) was also removed to hospital but his injuries are described as non life threatening.”

Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses to contact them at Monaghan Garda Station on 047 77200, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1 800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
