South West College helps raise £94k for Action cancer

As part of their shop challenge in aid of Action Cancer South West College along with 13 other business teams have helped raise a whopping £94,000.

The college was one of fourteen business teams across Northern Ireland who pitted their wits against one another to take on the Business in the Community’s Cares Shops’ Challenge in aid of Action Cancer.

The companies, Armstrong Medical, Boots, Caterpillar, Compass Group, Firmus energy, Firstsource, Fona Cab, Marks & Spencer, Northern Ireland Housing Executive, O’Hare & McGovern, South West College, SPAR, UTV and Veolia Water, fundraised for six months ahead of running Action Cancer’s charity shops for a day in September. The overall winner of the challenge was Boots.

Peter Lynch, Action Cancer Shops’ manager added: “The money raised during this challenge will be used to help people here in Northern Ireland and we are indebted to the businesses involved in the challenge for raising such an impressive sum of money.”
