COMEDY is on the way at the Bush Bar in Enniskillen. From Friday May 9, in association with Big Oak Productions, some of the ‘wackiest’ acts in Ireland and the UK every month.
The first line-up will be headlined by Kevin Goldsmith from Cork:
Kevin Goldsmith is one of the most exciting comedians working in Ireland today. He was discovered by Irish-American comic Des Bishop in 2005. He made such an impression that he supported Bishop on his Nationwide Fitting Tour which played to over 120,000 people.
Having gigged all around the world, Kevin has also supported a whole host of top comedy acts including Neil Delamere, Ardal O’ Hanlon and Police Academy’s Micheal Winslow on his most recent Irish tour.
The night will be MC’d by Barry Mack (Letterkenny) whom according to Hotpress magazine ‘is rapidly building an impressive reputation with bricks of deadpan whimsy’.
The line-up also includes Terry McHugh (Omagh), who has headlined clubs across Northern Ireland, already has two solo shows to his name and done warm up for some of Northern Irelands biggest names including Jake O’Kane and Tim McGarry (BBC NI’s The Blame Game) and supported Micky Bartlett (BBC NI’s Monumental) on his recent theatre tour.
Maxine Jones (Dublin via Liverpool) featured on BBC Radio 4 and RTE Radio 1. She is currently touring last year’s Edinburgh show, Embarrassing Mother, which has played to full houses in Edinburgh, at the Helix and Axis Dublin, Leicester Square Theatre, London and Gatehouse Theatre, Stafford.
You will also be welcomed into the weird world of Ivory Cutlery, a musical comedy duo (Frank Rafferty (Glasgow) and Connor Kelly (Derry)) performing work created or influenced by the strange Scottish humourist, writer, poet and songwriter Ivor Cutler.
They have performed around Ireland and the UK at numerous festivals, events and clubs and have supported comedy legends such as Kevin McAleer.
Newcomer Aaron McCann (Omagh) has performed in Omagh, Belfast Dublin and last year went to the Edinburgh fringe. He has recently reached the semi-finals in the Chortle Student comedy awards and will be heading to London for the final on May 22.
The event takes place on Friday, May 9, doors open from 9.30pm and admission is £5.
