SINCE it was opened in 2012, the Kinawley Community Centre has been utilised by the community for a range of events, but this week sees its first ‘big’ country night in aid of charity.
The Easter Monday event (April 21) features eight local country musicians plus a surprise guest, with all proceeds going to Marie Curie and Fermanagh Children’s Hospice.
Committee member Pat McManus speaking to the Fermanagh Herald this week, was excited to bring together local names for the night.
“It’s our new hall and we’re still finding our feet at this stage – so we’re looking forward to seeing how it goes.”
The night features Vincy Walmsley, Anthony McBrien, The Benn Sisters, Karl Kirkpatrick, Eugene Dolan, Alanna Maher, Sean Corrigan and Paul Kelly.
“Country music is glowing at the moment. They’re all local musicians, so we’re supporting them and it’s the first night of this kind that we’ve had in the hall,” Pat added.
Pat and the committee are hoping for a large crowd at the event.
“The fact it’s for charity and it’s in the new hall means that it’s a chance for people to see something that they haven’t before.
“There’s a good variety of artists and all money raised is going to two local charities.”
