WE ALL yearn for good, healthy skin but with 90 percent us lacking in Vitamin A, which is essential to a clear complexion, chances are we suffer from blemishes which we can’t seem to shift.
The Advanced Nutrition Programme believes that good skincare starts from within and their nutrition consultants use a holistic approach to achieving good skin well-being.
They use a wide range of natural vitamins and supplement range to combat all types of skin problems, whether you suffer from acne on a regular basis or have red blotchy skin with sore spots.
A skin test is carried out using a skin scanner which will determine your grade type ranging from one to five. You will then be advised as to which programme will best suit your skin needs.
Last week, I visited Advanced Beauty on the Cornagrade Road in Enniskillen where I underwent a skin test and was advised by Lauren McManus, head therapist, to start the Skin Accumax programme.
I suffer from acne constantly and have never been able to enjoy a clear skin day.
I have tried copious amounts of skin care products, and while many have helped reduce blemishes, nothing has ever made me want to go back and buy it again.
Skin Accumax is designed to help acne sufferers and the programmes are tailored to suit all different skin types.
Lauren, who has worked at Advanced Beauty for five years, recommended that I take two capsules a day.
So, for the duration of six to eight weeks I will be taking these supplements and keep a pictorial record of how my skin improves.
Speaking about the programme, Lauren said: “These are all very natural forms of Vitamin A and contain no harsh chemicals, so it’s completely harmless to the skin and body.
“These are optimum levels of vitamins so this is what your skin craves. There’s very few vitamins that we get from our food making it difficult to maintain a certain level for our bodies.
“Most acne programmes are about thinning out that top layer of skin but that will only work for a short period of time. These are designed to maintain good, healthy and clear skin.
“They are perfect for all ages from young to mature skin and can be used with a good home skin care regime.”
A month’s supply of Skin Accumax will cost £39.50 but there a number of alternative cheaper supplements packs starting from £13.
The ‘Rolls-Royce’ of the supplements range is the Pro-vitaility pack which contains the Vitamins A, C B2 and zinc for the maintenance of healthy skin.
The pack contains strips of six top of the range supplements – which are taken daily – and were designed to help skin, hair, nails, metabolism and muscles.
I will document my results in four to five weeks time, when, hopefully, I will see a change for the better.
