The St Michael’s College Carol Service has become an integral part of the build up to Christmas in our parish. This year’s event takes place in St Michael’s Church on Wednesday, 18th December at 8pm.
The evening will feature performances from the choir, soloists, and the brass band as well as readings from senior school, highlighting the rich and diverse talent that exists within the college.
Eugene McCullough, Principal of St Michael’s College said, “Even though we are starting our Christmas examinations, there is a fantastic atmosphere in the school.
“Teachers in our Music Department and students are giving willingly of their time to prepare for this, wonderful event that places our school at the heart of the parish.
“And that,” he said, “is what makes it really special. The coming together of our college staff, students, parents and parishioners to celebrate the birth of our Lord.”
Grainne Hanratty, Head of Music, paid tribute to the students in the build up to what has become one of the highlights the year.
“Our boys are very dedicated,” she said. “Their talent, their enthusiasm, and the support of our principal and staff make preparation so much easier. But it is the support of people from within and beyond our parish that will make the night special.”
