OVER 200 people joined together last week to officially launch the commemorative book of the St Michael’s Church Choir, ‘Age to Age’.
The Church choir have produced a photographic history of members from the 1950s through to the present day and the book highlights the involvement throughout the years of many local families as Musical Director Helen Hamill explained:
“The reason for producing the book was that some fabulous pictures of the choir’s early years were carefully maintained and they involved so many local families:Morris, Hynes, Campling, Smyth, Murphy, Burns, Kelly, Henderson, Kennedy, O’Hare, O’Reilly, Martin, McDonough and many more.
“Several of the choir’s early members wanted to showcase the photographs, and so we undertook to bring them to print.”
The event held on Thursday evening last was well attended with members from the local families who feature in the book present. Also in attendance at the launch evening was Father Edward Murphy, director of the choir in its early days and now a curate in Newtownbutler.
