Gavin Noble becomes the first Irish male to win the Ironman 70.3

IT HAS been a successful few weeks for Olympic triathlete Gavin Noble.

The Enniskillen man retained his title at the Dublin triathlon last week, and then, in Austria on Sunday, he won the Ironman 70.3.

Gavin is the first Irishman to win an Ironman 70.3 triathlon – and he also produced the fastest half ironman finish in his nationality, three hours, 50 minutes and 24 seconds.

Gavin led from the start, exiting the water in the first group, then keeping within sight of the lead throughout the bike leg, before running to victory with a one hour 14 minutes half marathon run split.

Enniskillen Olympic triathlete won the Vodafone Dublin City Triathalon at the weekend, defending his title in the process
