FOR Elaine Gormley, who lives outside Belleek, it is an exciting week. The country artist, who works with Nicholl Oil in Enniskillen, is releasing her debut album.
“The album is entitled ‘Walking On The Moon’ and has 14 tracks,” Elaine told the Fermanagh Herald.
“One track features a very well known Irish Country Star Matt Leavy who people will know from his many tours with Jimmy Buckley and Matt was also a contestant on Glor Tire. The duet we sing is called Size 7 Round.
“I recorded the album with David Arkins, in Athboy in County Meath, and I have to say he has done a fabulous job. My favourite track on the album is ‘Momma Say A Prayer’,” she added.
Back in 2010, Elaine appeared on TG4’s Glor Tire, reaching the semi-final, and she noted that music has always been in the family.
“I have been involved in music for as long as I can remember,” she said.
“My family is very musical, my dad Noel would be well known for his singing as was my late grandmother Cassie and credit has to go to my mum’s side too as my late grandfather was also very tuneful.”
In the Allingham Arms, Bundoran, on September 26, Elaine will release the album.
“I am excited about the launch night as it will be a night of good country music and dancing . I will have special guests on the night including: Matt Leavy, Ritchie Remo, Noel Gormley, Lynsey Scott, Thomas Gillespie, Shona Gillespie, Farrah Bogle, Ed Fox, Paul Kelly, Martin Cox, Shauna McStravock and Eimear Furlong.”
