LOCAL cheerleaders, the Enniskillen Jets,  are off to America this week – to take part in a four day cheerleading camp in Pennslevania.

The camp, Pine Forest, has been running for 44 years according to head coach of the Jets, Sarah Tierney.

Twenty-two cheerleaders, plus three coaches and two parents, embarked on the trip yesterday, the third time the group have went to the camp.

“They’ll be bringing skills that they already have, and improving their skills, stunts and movement,” explained Sarah.

“It’s a family-run camp and has been going for 44 years. We’ve been twice before, it’s very hard work but the girls will learn a lot from it.”

The group will spend a few days in New York, ending their trip on August 23.
