Suspended sentence for smashing a glass over barman

AN Enniskillen man has been handed a suspended sentence for smashing a glass over a barman on Halloween night.
Kyran McNern (38), Drumbeg, Enniskillen appeared at Enniskillen Magistrates Court charged with disorderly behaviour in Devenish Bar and assault to a member of staff.
On the 31st October 2024 the injured party entered the dance floor of Devenish bar with the intention to break up a fight.
The defendant then lifted his leg and kicked him on the chest which caused him to fall to the ground.
McNern then stood over the victim and smashed a glass on him. He was then removed from the bar which he had been barred from since 2018.
Judge Alana McSorley branded McNern’s actions “thuggish behaviour” and sentenced him to a total of a three months in prison, suspended for 18 months.
