Enniskillen’s Ashbrook Care Home has been taken over by Runwood Homes.
Runwood Homes took over as owner of the care home on Monday and the new owners are hoping to add between 20 and 30 jobs to the area as they plan to expand the services provided at the care home and enhance facilities available to those suffering with Dementia.
Runwood Homes, Northern Ireland Director of Operations John Rafferty is excited for the future of Ashbrook Care Home.
“We have a high reputation and operate high quality facilities. We are hoping to add 20 or 30 jobs to the care home for the Fermanagh area as there is one area of the building which is currently not being used.
“We are hoping to refurbish the care home, decorate the inside of the home and invest in the environment. We are also planning on adding dementia friendly areas and gardens for families and patients. We will be putting the best practices in place for dementia patients and will focus on improving the experience of the patients and their families.”
The staff of Ashbrook Care Home will also benefit from the takeover as their jobs are secure and Runwood Homes will ensure they can enhance their career.
“The staff will receive wider support, training on personal development which will help develop their careers and they will have opportunities they may not have had before.”
Runwood Homes currently operates eight nursing homes throughout Northern Ireland. Along with Ashbrooke Care Home, the company also acquired Ard Mhacha Care Home in Armagh and Geanann Care Home in Dungannon.
“It is a very exciting time for Ashbrook and for Runwood Homes. I am delighted to have acquired Ashbrook and happy to be in Fermanagh. I was at the care home on Monday and met all the staff and I am delighted to have Ashbrook on board,” said Mr Rafferty.
