Ballinamallard United will compete in the 2014 Setanta Cup.
The club released a statement this afternoon (December 9) noting that due to the withdrawal today of both Cliftonville and Linfield, they have ‘accepted an invitation from the Irish Football Association and the Football Association of Ireland to enter the 2014 Setanta Sports Cup’.
The eight participating clubs from both Associations will be as follows: FAI – Dundalk, Shamrock Rovers, Sligo Rovers and St Patrick’s Athletic.
IFA – Ballinamallard United, Coleraine, Crusaders and Glentoran.
The 2014 Setanta Sports Cup will consist of quarter final and semi-final ties, home and away, and will be drawn North v South where possible.
The quarter final first legs will be held on Monday 24th February to be confirmed, and the Final will be on the May 10.The launch and draw of the 2014 Setanta Sports Cup will take place at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin on Wednesday 11 at 12 noon.
