Striker Andy Crawford paid tribute to assistant manager Brian Khan and first team coach Andy Parkinson for the work they did during the week in preparing the squad for the Coleraine game.

He said it was a great job by them and the whole back room team.

Crawford said a week is a long time in football, but the players showed great character in the way they had come back from the 11-0 thrashing by Portadown.

“Everyone knew we had let the fans, the club and ourselves last week and we wanted to put it right as soon as possible,” said Crawford.

“To bounce back with a win like this has just lifted the hearts of everybody.”

Crawford admitted that a lot of home truths were brought back after the heavy defeat at Shamrock Park and the players had a lot to say.

“But everyone seemed to react today. Everyone played with their heart and soul and we got the result we wanted. That is the main thing.”

Turning to his two late goals Crawford said he saw the keeper coming off his line with the corner of his eye for the first goal.

“My legs allowed me to nip in front of him and slot into the empty net. I was more than grateful for the opportunity.

“The second fell perfectly when Jason slipped a neat ball to me and I struck it perfectly to give the keeper no chance.”

The Ballinamallard striker didn’t think it was a smash and grab.

“When you think of it Alvin, the goalkeeper didn’t really have a shot to save.  They didn’t create any openings, even though they had a bigger percentage of possession.
“We don’t really care though. We got the three points and we’re able to put the previous week behind us.”

Crawford wasn’t surprised to be on the bench as he had been carrying a hamstring injury during the week.

‘The physio worked really hard on me and when Richard Leckey was injured early in the game I took my chance.”
