Carter meets Irish President

Fermanagh singer Jake Carter was one of the special guests who were recently invited to Áras an Úachtaráin for a meeting with President Michael D Higgins on a day which celebrated Irish music.
Since moving to the county to live alongside his older brother, Country music sensation Nathan Carter, the Liverpudlian has made major strides in his own music career.
It has been a busy time for the 25-year-old singer who took another major step in his ever-growing music career by releasing his new album, ‘Point of You’.
“I’ve had these tracks for years and years,” former ‘Dancing with the Stars’ champion, Carter, told RTE.
“A lot of them were written during lockdown but it was hard to release music at that stage because you couldn’t get out and tour with it and promote it.
“It’s great to have new music out. I do other things like acting and TV, but music is my main passion.
“I love gigging and this album is a bit like re-starting for me after Covid and showing people what kind of music I can do,” he added.
The former ‘Dancing with the Stars’ champion recently met up with President Michael D Higgins at his residency in Dublin as part of a special celebration for Irish Music Month.
“Launched in 2021, Irish Music Month is an initiative of Hot Press and the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland, and is funded by Coimisiún na Meán,” a spokesperson for ‘Irish Music Month’ told ‘Galway Bay’.
“Participating IBI [Independent Broadcasters of Ireland] stations will feature Irish music strongly throughout the month, and significantly increase the number of plays for Irish artists.”
When he first moved to Fermanagh, Carter focused on Country music, but he recently teased fans that he’s changing his style of music to his much-loved pop genre. “I was always much more into pop music. My influences were very much pop bands,” said Carter.
