The big teams keep on coming to Ferney Park. This week it is the turn of Crusaders who visit, looking to keep their title challenge up.

Ferney manager Whitey Anderson rates Crusaders as one of the best all round sides in the league and knows it will be another tough ask for his boys.

But he was pleased with several aspects of Saturday’s defeat to Portadown, saying that his side’s statistics matched the front runners for corners, off sides and shots on target.

“They hit the target three times and we hit the target four,” said Anderson.

“It could have been so different if he had scored just after the penalty was given. That would have changed the whole complexion of the game,” said Anderson.

“It’s Crusaders this week week and it will be tough. No doubt. If you have a look at the league table they are one of the top three sides there. It’s been a tough three games and I will be disappointed if we don’t get something out of this last one.”

“The Crusaders game doesn’t come any harder. They are the best balanced side in the league, I think. They are very competitive.

They are strong at the back and they have two excellent wingers in Heatley and White. They are a big threat going forward.”

Anderson admitted that he will look at thing in fine detail this week to correct the little errors which are costing dearly.

“We’ll tweak a few things during the week and see if we can come up with another improved performance.”

The Ballinamallard manager said his side went into these three tough games looking to take something out of them.

“Hopefully we can do it on this one. We really deserve something,” he contended.

Time to break with hoodoo with Glentoran.

On Tuesday night Ballinamallard take on  Glentoran in the quarter final of the Wasp Solution League Cup.

“It’s home draw and I see it as a great opportunity for us to progress,” said manager Whitey Anderson.

Glentoran are a mixture of youth and experience at the moment, but are coming up with a few good results.

Ballinamallard have never had a victory over the Glens but Anderson is hoping they can put that right next Tuesday evening.

“We have home advantage and hopefully we can get the crowd behind us,” he said. “This would be a good time to break the hoodoo. The players will be really up for it.”
