SIGNING… Colm McLaughlin
Ballinamallard United have signed defender Colm McLaughlin from Institute late on deadline day.
McLaughlin (21), from Buncrana, Co. Donegal, returns for his second spell at Ballinamallard having been on loan from Sligo Rovers during the second half of season 2012/13 when he struggled with an injury having recovered from an operation and featured mainly for Ballinamallard United II.
After his release from Sligo Rovers last season, where he had played with the U19s along with Liam Martin, Whitey informed Paul Kee at Championship 1 Institute of Colm’s availability and Institute went on to become Champions with Colm in the squad.
Colm’s transfer to Ferney Park will provide cover in defence where he plays mainly left back or centre and will increase competition for places within the squad.
