END OF AN ERA… Andy Crawford has called time on his Ballinamallard career

Striker Andy Crawford is hanging up his boots in the Premiership.

The Balliamallard hitmanhad a goalscoring record during his six years at Ferney that most club strikers would be envious of.

At a ratio of almost ine goal every two games Crawford netted 89 times for the club in a little over 200 appearances.

His goal stats are 71 League, 6 Irish Cup, 5 League Cup, 2 IFA Intermediate Cup, and 5 F&W Intermediate Cup.

Ballinamallard manager Whitey Anderson in response to Andy Crawford’s announcement said,

“I have been chatting to Andy over the last few weeks and he has decided that the time is right for him to call an end to his career at Ballinamallard. He can certainly hold his head high bringing the curtain down on his career with us at this particular time.

Andy went on to score 79 goals in a 4-year period in the Championship.

Without his goals this club in my mind simply would not be playing Premiership football today, it’s as simple as that. Andy Crawford has been, for me, the most significant signing made in the history of this club.

His goals in the Championship were top drawer, and the TV highlights of some of those goals will testify to that. It was also very fitting that Andy should score our historic first ever goal in the Premiership against Dungannon Swifts in August 2012.
