Armstrong takes over reigns at Ferney

ROLE...Bob Armstrong

ROLE…Bob Armstrong

Bob Armstrong is the new Chairman of Ballinamallard United.

A familiar face at the club for many years, Armstrong was elected at the club’s annual meeting last week and will take over the role from Desi Quinn, who stepped down after four years.

“I am delighted to be elected Chairman once again and I’m honoured that my fellow club members had faith in me to take on the mantle from Desi Quinn after the fantastic job he did over the past four years.”

“The club has obviously changed quite dramatically since I was last Chairman. The changing rooms, the three stands, floodlights and a quality pitch are all impressive infrastructure developments which I must give immense credit for to my predecessors Desi and Gerry Byers before him. On the pitch too the club has achieved so much since I handed over the reins winning the Second Division, Championship 1, IFA Youth League and IFA Reserve League titles, as well as two Irish Youth Cups.”

Bob is pleased to have witnessed and been part of the success which followed his period at the helm, and he is keen to carry on where Desi Quinn left off and to facilitate the club in establishing itself in the Premiership for the long term.
