The Tumbling Paddies pick up album award

The Tumbling Paddies said they were ‘delighted’ to receive a special award from a leading music creator to celebrate the success of their debut album.

IMRO – the governing body for music in Ireland – recently acknowledged the Fermanagh band for the success of their award-winning album, ‘The Journey So Far’.

“We’re delighted to receive this plaque from IMRO Ireland for our number 1 album ‘The Journey So Far Live’,” said lead singer, Gareth Maguire.

Released in August last year, ‘The Journey So Far’ album is made up solely of their best ‘live’ tracks.

Speaking ahead of the launch, percussionist John McCann was looking forward to the release.

“We have been working very hard on this album and we’re looking forward to seeing how it will go down with the fans,” he said.

“We feel very lucky that everywhere we go and everywhere we play, we’re greeted by so many fans and we’re very thankful always for the support that we receive.”

The six-man band is counting down to a major tour of Australia, which is set to kick off on March 14. The Tumbling Paddies are looking forward to heading Down Under.

“We’re really looking forward to some of our upcoming shows and we can’t wait to get back out on the road again, after taking a few weeks off,” said the Coa man

“We never take it for granted. We’re always very appreciative of the support that we receive from our fans across Ireland and further afield and we are all looking forward to the year ahead.”
