ENNISKILLEN singer Sean Magee is set to collaborate with one of the North’s top bands for what’s expected to be a sold-out music festival in Sligo later this week.
The former All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann champion has confirmed that he’ll be performing alongside ‘The Whistlin’ Donkeys’ at the Ballygawley Music Festival in Sligo on July 19.
Enniskillen singer and musician Magee has made a real name for himself in the local music scene after he released his second single, to the delight of his ever-growing music fans.
Named ‘Ballyconnell Fair’, the song which is centred around the rural countryside and townlands on the Fermanagh border, has gone down a treat with local fans of the popular singer and musician.
Magee’s track reached number one in the Keltic Country Charts, piping the likes of Nathan Carter’s band Ceol to top spot, in a major coup for the local talent.
He recently confirmed that his music video for his debut single ‘Tippin’ it up to Nancy’ has surpassed over 700,000 views on major streaming platform, YouTube.
Magee’s cover of the Christy Moore classic went down a big hit with fans from across the island and he has confirmed that over one million people have listened to his top track on Spotify.
“I am absolutely buzzing and can’t believe so many people have listened to ‘Tippin it up to Nancy’ on Spotify,” said Magee, following official confirmation from Spotify.
For ‘The Whistlin’ Donkeys’, they’re going to be taking centre stage at the Carrigart Festival on Sunday, before they team up with Magee for their Sligo performance.
