AN exhibition of new work by Fermanagh-based artist Simon Carman has opened at the Higher Bridges Gallery in Enniskillen.

‘Hedone’ is Simon Carman’s first-ever solo exhibition. The exhibition, which draws inspiration from a wide range of sources spanning classical sculpture, nature, astrophysics and popular culture, includes recent stonework by the artist and invites the viewer on a meander through imagery and technique in stone.

Simon lives and works in County Fermanagh and has been a studio holder at The Leitrim Sculpture Centre for many years, predominantly working in stone, bronze and collage.

He has exhibited both nationally and internationally and his work is held in a number of private collections. As well as producing his own work, Simon is well recognised for his casting and carving skills and is often called upon to fabricate work for some of Ireland’s most prestigious artists.

The exhibition opened on Thursday May 28 in the Higher Bridges Gallery, at the Clinton Centre and continues until Saturday 27 June 2015. Admission to the exhibition is free.

The Higher Bridges Gallery is open Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 4pm and Saturday 11am to 3pm.
