As always, you’ll laugh your socks off at this year’s annual New Year panto produced by the Lakeland Players.
This year the group returns with the world of ‘Mother Goose’, with the title character being played by Mark Allen, for a third time.
“I suppose I’m an old hand at it at this stage, but every time we bring show to the stage we always try to bring something new to the character,” he said.
“Every script is different, but we always try to put the unique Lakelanders spin on it.”
Mark is joined on stage by the irrepressible Barry Gibson, who is playing Billy Goose. Mark and Barry have formed a much loved double act over the years and the Lakeland Players audiences always have a grat reaction in their pairing.
“It’s always great craic working alongside Mark, we’ve been doing it so long now I think we have a kind of telepathy,” said Mark.
The show is again directed by Stephen Kettyles and Marian Haggins while musical direction is by Attracta Flanagan.
The show always provides a great laugh in the New Year and should ensure Ardhowen Theatre has packed houses throughout the coming weeks.
