Hootin Annys head for Mahon’s this weekend

hoots1

Described as “a wee band with a massive sound” the Hootin Annys combine a mix of bluegrass, traditional, jazz, rap and rock n roll with a hint of Celtic flare.

The popular band appear at Mahon’s Hotel, Irvinestown this Saturday (tonight) at 10.30pm

All the members of the band add their own flavour and showmanship on stage; the guitarist (who also plays piano, fiddle, melodica, accordion and Cajun drum) is cracking off jokes and out dancing with the crowd, the lead singer provides a powerful and passionate vocal but the man at the back of the stage is the one who makes this three piece band truly special, picking on his banjo so fast that if you look closely enough you can see sparks coming from his fingertips!
