Young music students perform Christmas concert

Fermanagh Regional Christmas Concert in St.Michael's College

AROUND 200 young musicians took part in the WELB Music Service Fermanagh Regional Christmas Concert.

Hosted in St. Michael’s College, there were accomplished performances from a wide range of groups including the Fermanagh junior string orchestra, primary school brass bands, intermediate string orchestra and the intermediate wind band.

The students, from schools throughout the county, had been preparing for the concert since September and the audience were treated to an enjoyable and varied programme.

The junior strong orchestra played three pieces – ‘Sad Movie’, ‘Simple Square Dance’ and ‘Jingle Bells’.

The primary school brass bands played a number of pieces including ‘let’s get this show on the road’, and seasonal favourites ‘Twinkle Twinkle‘and ‘Good King Wencesklas’.
Pieces from the mind band included ‘Pulsar’, ‘Thriller’ and ‘an old fashioned Christmas’.

And the intermediate string orchestra performed a number of lovely tunes including ‘Winter Wonderland’, Sleeping Beauty Waltz’, ‘Firework’ by Katy Perry and ‘Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer’.
