Face the facts of healthy skin care

Beauty blog - Facials

FACIALS are often seen as luxuries and something we treat ourselves to maybe two or three times a year. But they are a vital part of the skin cleansing process and it is recommended that we undergo a facial at least every six weeks.

They help to clean out clogged pores allowing the skin to breath, preventing blackheads and breakouts.

To keep our skin looking young and fresh we have to look after our skin and facials are part and parcel of this process.

The Italian skin care brand Comfort Zone has a wide range of products and formulations for the face and body. Its products contain anti-oxidants, omega oils, multi-vitamins and other dermocompatible ingredients which helps hydrate, soothe and defend our skin.

Its wide range of products means that every skin type is catered for, whether you have normal, oily, dry, sensitive or combination skin.

The range is exclusive – within Fermanagh – to Dolly Bird Beauty Studio in Brookeborough. Proprietor Edel Greene is launching the face range next Wednesday, December 4.

Some of the ranges include a rebalance/sensitive Delicate Skin Resonance which is an equalising and strengthening treatment.

The moisturise/dehydrated or Dry Skin Hydramemory is a 24 deep hydrating treatment. It contains trehalose and detaglucan which is recommended in dry weather conditions and during and after travel. A collagen mask can be added upon request for depleted mature skin.

The purify/oily or Combination Skin Active Pureness Rebalancing is a purifying and rebalancing treatment. The deep cleaning treatment to render the skin fresh and toned. Thanks to the possibility of choosing two mask types this treatment is ideal for both oily, depleted or impure skins as well as those more delicate skin types.

The renew/nourish/anti-aging recover touch is an antioxidant vitamin facial treatment. The vitamin rich antioxidant treatment provides intensive nourishment, calming and relief from environmental stress.

Finally the illuminating/whitening absolute pearl illuminating is an illuminating oxygenating treatment. It is enriched with pearl powder and rejuvenating whitening actives, bestows exceptional luminosity, attenuates uneven colour and provides anti- ageing protection.

Edel works on her own so the service feels very personal from the beginning.

Speaking about the new brand, Edel said: “The comfort zone brand stand out from all the others for me because they unite rigorous scientific research with a sensorial and holistic approach, combing plant extracts , with aroma oils and biochemical ingredients. Comfort zone facials aim to engage all five senses to give the most relaxing experience whilst delivering effective results.

“Treatment courses are often the most effective way to attain optimal results from treatments. It is important for everyone to get the most out of any treatment, so we offer a great special rate for The Dolly Bird treatment courses, book a six treatment course and only pay for five.”

The facial I had was a Facial Ritual which was tailored to include both the Active Pureness Rebalancing and Hydramemory range as I have an oily skin condition but I also suffer from some dryness because of the seasonal biorhythms.

Edel also used Tranquillity warm oil ritual for massage and this includes the essential oils rosewood, cedar, palmarosa, orange, and rose and vanilla.

Taster Facial: £28 (40 mins)
Facial Ritual: £38 (60 mins)
Facial Retreat: £50 (1hr 45mins)
Eye Supreme – multi active rejuvenating eye zone treatment: £25
