THE wintry weather has officially set in with temperatures plummeting to the chilly single figures.

And while it hasn’t quite dropped below the freezing point yet, Jack Frost has been making a reappearance over the last week.

Don’t let the bitter weather scupper your style because there is a wide-range of autumn/winter coats to keep you feeling snug and fashionable.

The array of stylish winter coats and jackets suit all kinds of tastes and sizes while fashionistas are spoilt for choice this season with fur making its come-back, long and over-sized trench coats and military jackets hot on the high-street.

Wrap up in mannish/over-sized coats, or go for the casual but very trendy military/trench coats with leather/gold sequin sleeves which are littered across most high street shops.

A must-have is the hugely popular prints mix coats which can brighten up any dreary day.

While they don’t appear to big as popular this year, I think the cape coats can dress up any outfit and is very comfy. A number of boutiques do the fur-lined capes adding that touch of trend and warmth.

Invest in a versatile coat – one that be worn during the day at work or out shopping but can also suit your evening attire.

Go for two types of coats – firstly a plain-coloured coat – which could be dressed up with a waist belt or jewellery as well as a two or three coloured tone coats or printed coats.

Bright tones really brighten up a dreary day – dress for your mood not the gloomy weather outside.

Ensure the coat has good and long-lasting fabric and look out for the finer details e.g. buttons, zips, fold-overs and belts.

Tweed coats and blazers suit both men and women but be sure not to clash with other patterns.

Pale pink is a huge colour this season and you don’t have to spend big bucks, these days the high street offers good style and quality as the labels do.
