The local fashion shows are often the best says Sharon Irvine
A FASHION show is always a great way to not only raise money for charity or community but also to bring people who love style together no matter what age they might be.
You don’t have to travel to Milan, New York, Paris or even London to see the season’s latest trends on the catwalk and unlike the designer catwalk shows you will find more realistic models at local fashion shows.
I have been to many fashion shows where I just couldn’t relate to the models because they are so tiny and I couldn’t even get one leg let alone my whole body into some of the outfits they wear on the catwalk.
Seeing stick thin models waver down the catwalk is no advertisement when you are trying to sell clothes to the average woman.
It may look good for designer clothes however an average size woman is not going to be able to imagine how it would look on her in fact its more likely to put her off the outfit.
The ladies of Lisbellaw got their fashion fix on Friday night when they got to see the latest trends on display from SD Kells and my own vintage fashion collection ‘Allis Vintage’.
The fashion show was held in the Methodist Church Hall and all money raised went towards Church funds in both Lisbellaw and Maguiresbridge Parishes.
