Sinead spreading Xmas cheer for those in need!

IT’S that time of year again for Enniskillen woman Sinead Rooney, who each year takes Christmas spirit to a whole new level by distributing as many hampers as she possibly can, for those who need it the most.
For the past six years, Sinead, with the help of her son Ethan, have been making up huge Christmas hampers consisting of food and toiletries.
“It started off I was only going to do one hamper but I got so many people asking it turned into two, then three, then four. Now this year I’ve done up to seven with demand to do even more,” explained Sinead.
Along with the essentials, the hampers also contain all the trimmings for Christmas day dinner which Sinead and Ethan begin collecting for in early November.
“Turkey, gammon, vegetables, gravy, potatoes, stuffing, tinfoil and much more,” is included within each hamper before it is discreetly delivered, said Sinead.
“It’s absolutely heartbreaking what some people have to go through, right on our front door step.
“It’s hard not to get emotional about it all, especially when a parent messages me to say that I’ve made their Christmas.”
This year Sinead has also set up a ‘just giving’ page which offers anyone the chance to directly donate as much money as they would like towards a hamper.
“I never ever ask for help with this but a few people donate rather than having to buy food themselves.
“I’m not expecting anyone to donate but if you would like to I can assure you that the money will all go to making more hampers,” she said. If you would like to make a donation contact Sinead Rooney via her Facebook page.
