Road accident victim to be laid to rest tomorrow

The victim of a weekend road traffic collision in Co. Fermanagh will take place tomorrow (Tuesday).

Patrick James (Packie) McGeough from Carraberra, Smithboro in Co. Monaghan died following a two car crash near Newtownbutler on Saturday afternoon.

The crash involving a Silver Audi A4 and a red Ford Escort happened on the A3 Cavan Road at around 2.25pm. It’s believed that the 79-year-old was on his way from the Clogher market, which he attended weekly, when he lost his life.

He is survived by his loving wife Rosie, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, relatives and friends.

His remains will be reposing at his residence from 5pm today (Monday) with removal tomorrow morning at 11.15 a.m, arriving at St. Mary’s Church, Magherarney for funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Police are still appealing for anyone with information or who may have noticed either of the cars in the area in the run up to the crash to contact Omagh Police Station or the Collision Investigations Unit on the non-emergency number 101.
