A DERRYGONNELLY man pulled down his trousers and exposed himself to police when he was drunk.
Terrence Thompson (26) of Fedian, Derrygonnelly pleaded guilty to obstructing police and indecent behaviour at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday following the incident on February 14.
Thompson had been leaving the Cosy Bar in Derrygonnelly and was heading towards the town’s Main Street when he dropped his trousers and exposed his backside to the officers, who were on mobile patrol. He then turned around and exposed his penis to the officers.
Police stopped and spoke with Thompson, who they said was “clearly intoxicated”, and when they asked for his details he gave them different ages and dates of birth.
Thompson, who was not represented by a solicitor in court, said he was very sorry for what he had done and said he was drunk at the time.
District Judge Nigel Broderick told Thompson, who is a farm labourer, that on this occasion he would deal with him by way of a fine but warned him if he was before the court again on similar charges he would face a more severe sentence as “such behaviour is unacceptable.”
Judge Broderick fined Thompson a total £100 for obstruction and £200 for indecent behaviour, and gave him 28 days to pay.
