St Columban’s and Integrated take F&W indoor honours

Last week saw the Lakeland Forum staging the Fermanagh and Western Indoor soccer competitions for Fermanagh’s schools.

The schools were split into large and small schools with the small school competition taking place on Monday and the large schools on Tuesday.

At the end of a great days football in the small schools section, St Columban’s PS Belcoo overcame St Ninnidh’s PS Derrylin in a thrilling final to win the competition for the first time.

Nine teams entered the competition for large schools and the four semi-finalists were Enniskillen Integrated PS, Holy Trinity PS, Model PS and St Paul’s. The final was contested by Enniskillen Integrated PS and Model PS.

Integrated took the lead with the Model equalising to force extra time. In the last minute of extra time Fabio Ledwith scored the winning goal, but not before both sides hit the posts of the opposition goals. This was a thrilling and tight final with both sides displaying excellent skills.
