Fermanagh taking action to help refugees

THE PEOPLE of Fermanagh are taking action in aid of the refugee crisis.

A group has been set up on Facebook and already it has gained a massive following, with over 1,200 members.

‘Fermanagh -Calais. Refugee Solidarity Action’ has been set up by local people and the group is asking for donations to help those in need. High priority items include; tents, shoes, blankets and sleeping bags.

In their short existence the group has already secured a number of drop-off centres. One is  at Dylan Quinn Dance Studio (beside Stuart’s Auctions). The initial drop off period is tomorrow, Saturday 5th from  1pm to 6pm. People can also donate to Sadie at Jets Cheerleaders during rehearsal times, the Lakeland Forum and at Sean Timoney Windows, Tattygare Road, Garvary during working hours.

The group is also looking for transportation of donations to either Belfast, Newry, Dublin or Cork.
