21-year-old student Serena Magee, Lisnaskea, sent grandfather Tony, who turned 83, a birthday card over the weekend.

She forgot to take the 99p sticker from the back of the card, and Tony, who lives in Southampton, sent a cheeky text back.

He said: “Got your card lovely it is I will send you 99p when I can afford it but I still love u.”

We enjoyed the sarcasm.

Serena told the Fermanagh Herald: “Basically it was his birthday on Saturday there, so I sent him over his card and left the 99p sticker on the back of it.

“He’s quite the joker so, Granda being Granda, replied with a smart answer. He always seems to put the biggest smile on my face, especially now that he’s taught himself to text!”
