Erne ladies Ulster final venue changed

Fermanagh Manager, Lisa Woods. DP14

Fermanagh Ladies Ulster Intermediate Final venue has been changed to |Aughnamullen,  Co. Monaghan on Sunday.

The game was originally scheduled for Omagh.

The ladies have overcome several hurdles in the past week.

Despite that they will go into Sunday’s Ulster Intermediate Championship final as underdogs.

But they are determined to ‘bite back’ to defend the crown they won last year.

New manager Lisa Woods has been developing a young side this season with league results not going their way.

But they bouced back in the semi final to dispose of Antrim and this gradually instilled confidence will stand them in good sted when they meet the Mourne women again.

It gives them the opportunity to make amends for the league defeat.

She has instilled a good work ethic and knows that come Sunday it will be 60 minutes of all out strong work rate.

“We expect immediate pressure from them as they attempt to perhaps kill us off from an early stage,” Woods commented.

But she is quietly confident that Fermanagh can handle the pressure and work their way into the game.

“Essentially we will have to show the same hunger as Down no doubt will have. We have the motivation however of retaining the title and hopefully we will have a full squad of players to select from.”
