Three Mount Lourdes students have taken part in an Ulster Youth Choir summer residential week involving training sessions with top conductors and artistic directors at the Ulster Youth Choir.

The students then delivered a full-blooded concert recital in Derry.

It was sponsored by Translink, and was held in St Killian’s College, Garron Tower, Carnlough.

The students from Enniskillen, Aisling Doherty, Ellen O’Doherty and Clodagh Treacy were selected with 100-plus other post-primary school pupils following competitive auditions.

It was all hard work as Aisling, a 7th year student from Lissan explained.

“We got up at 8 o’clock in the morning for rehearsals, and didn’t get to bed till around 11 o’clock, although we did have some recreational time in between. It was very intense, but very enjoyable.”
